DSI was founded at the initiative of the financial sector in order to give form to the sector’s self-regulation activities. There is no legal requirement to be affiliated with or certified by DSI. However, financial firms do have a legal obligation to guarantee fair and honest operations. DSI helps in this by promoting and monitoring the expertise and integrity of financial professionals. DSI has signed a covenant with the supervisory body, the Financial Markets Authority (AFM). Many financial firms require their investment specialists to be registered with DSI.
With your DSI certification, you show clients, prospects and the supervisory body that your organisation places a high value on the integrity and expertise of your employees. Moreover, doing so contributes to the legal requirement to guarantee fair and honest operations. It also shows that your fully-certified employees meet the required European ESMA Guidelines, which are enforced by the AF
DSI stands for impartial, serious self-regulation. DSI’s approach is characterised by a system that promotes and certifies the integrity and expertise of financial professionals on one hand, and that also intervenes when necessary on the other.
Every DSI-certified professional has been exhaustively screened, has the relevant education and work experience, has completed the training necessary to deal with integrity-related dilemmas, and is periodically reviewed on their integrity and expertise. Moreover, DSI-certified professionals commit to abide by the Code of Conduct. And when they violate the Code of Conduct, they can be held accountable by ethics enforcement agencies. This ‘closed system’ enables consumers, employers and supervisory bodies to trust that the certified professionals meet the strictest standards placed by the sector.
DSI’s procedures are recorded in the Administrative Organisation and Internal Management Measures document. An accountant monitors DSI’s compliance with these procedures and provides a report of his or her findings to both the board and the AFM, as per the terms of the covenant between DSI and AFM.
When a firm merges or splits, a copy of the notary deed must be sent to DSI. Your DSI-certified employees can then be registered under the name of the new organisation, as long as it is also affiliated with DSI.
You can be included in more than one register if you meet certain job profile and admission requirements. An overview of the various DSI registers and their conditions can be found here.
Absolutely. You can request certification as a self-employed professional, temporary worker or contractor, franchisee, or employee of an institution that is affiliated with a DSI participant’s AFM license.
Your diplomas will remain valid for as long as you meet the current requirements for the register in which you were certified. You can also maintain your professional expertise, even if you are no longer DSI-certified, for example by participating in the periodic tests for your certification. Check the DSI website regularly for new information. If you missed the periodic test, you can always take it again later, because the tests are always updated together with the relevant examinations.
DSI only accredits examinations. You are entirely free to choose the best way to prepare for the exams. Ask your employer and/or educational institution which training options are available to you.
There is not Continuing Professional Education program for the Integrity register at this moment, so the requirement does not apply to you.
No, if you registered with DSI in 2021, then you are not required to complete the Continuing Professional Education program until 2022.
The deadline for completing the 2021 Continuing Professional Education program is 1 June 2022. If you have not yet started one of the Continuing Professional Education programs, please contact one of the education providers offering the 2021 Continuing Professional Education program to enrol in the programme.
If you have already completed the Continuing Professional Education requirements for 2021, congratulations! You can ignore this e-mail.
Twice each year, the education providers send DSI a list of professionals who have successfully completed the Continuing Professional Education program for that year. DSI received the results for the 2021 programme in January and July 2022. We process these results in the DSI register upon receipt, and when the data are processed we notify the Certified Professionals, even if our data show that a Certified Professional has not yet completed the Continuing Professional Education program for a register.
You do not have to submit the diplomas or certificates or upload any documents to prove that you have completed the study programme. DSI will process the results automatically based on the information we receive from the educational institutions.
We recommend that you contact your education provider. Our website provides an overview of all DSI-accredited education providers.

You can find a list of accredited education providers in this overview. Several different providers offer accredited Continuing Professional Education programs, so we recommend that you ask your employer if the organisation has made any arrangements with a specific provider. Many DSI participants have made such arrangements, so you may not have to choose a provider on your own.
In our new system, all applicants with an open request receive a reminder that their request is still open. The e-mail asking you to complete your request was sent by accident.
We apologize for the confusion.
Please disregard the e-mail.
No, that is not necessary. We regularly receive the results of all training providers and automatically update your certification details. So you don’t need to do anything.
Our DSI assistants can manually correct your registration in our back office system. Simply send an e- mail with your request to certificering@dsi.nl, along with the following information:
We will process your request and send you a reply as quickly as possible. Please note that the waiting time might be a bit longer than you are accustomed to.
Some certifications are not correctly displayed in the new MijnDSI environment at the moment. We are aware of this problem, and are hard at work on a solution. Once we have solved the problem in the Public Register, we will post a notification on this page.
If the matter is urgent, and you need an answer within one working week, then the DSI assistants can manually correct your registration in our back office system.

The dots in the MijnDSI dashboard are not clickable links. We have received this question from many of our contact persons, and we have put this item on the agenda for future MijnDSI updates. Once we have addressed all of the current technical issues, we will start adding new functionalities, such as this one.
For the moment, you can find all of the desired information by clicking on the variables shown under the dots. This also allows you to filter the information in your employees overview.
We are aware of this problem. The cause may be that you have more than one role, for example because you are the contact person for multiple business units and/or you are both a contact person for your employer and a DSI certified professional.
Fortunately, we can re-set your password for you and/or add your double role to your profile, so that you can switch between your different roles in the future.
If this situation applies to you, please notify your relations manager Evelien Buijs via e.buijs@dsi.nl, with reference to ‘re-set password for certification participant’. Please include the following details in your e-mail:
We will process your request as quickly as possible, and we will notify you once we have re-set your login details.
If this situation applies to you, please notify your relations manager Nana Asante via n.asante@dsi.nl, with reference to ‘re-set password for certification participant’. Please include the following details in your e-mail:
There is a new URL for MijnDSI. Instead of trying www.mijndsi.nl, enter www.mijn.dsi.nl for direct access.
We’re sorry to hear that you can’t log in using your current user name and password. Fortunately, we can re-set them for you.
In the login screen, click on ‘I can’t log in’ under ‘User Name and Password’. Enter your e-mail address, and we will send you an e-mail with a link to change your password.
If you do not have a MijnDSI account, you can create one by clicking on ‘I don’t have an account’ in the MijnDSI portal.
If the link to the Certificate of Conduct in MijnDSI does not work, then the Ministry of Justice website is probably undergoing maintenance at the moment. If you receive this error message, please wait a bit and try again later.
If you receive the maintenance error message, you could try deleting your cache / browser history. If that does not work, try using the following work-around. Please note: the work-around takes longer to process than requesting the Certificate of Conduct via the link in MijnDSI.
Work-around: If you have enough time to wait, you can request a Certificate of Conduct yourself using this link. The Certificate of Conduct will be sent to the address you provide. When you receive the Certificate of Conduct, please upload it in MijnDSI as quickly as possible.
Having problems uploading your Certificate of Conduct? The new MijnDSI requires sharp images to correctly verify the authenticity of documents. If you cannot upload your document, try taking a sharper photo of the image (max. file size 5 MB) and upload it again.
If you still cannot upload your Certificate of Conduct, then please send it as an e-mail attachment to screening@dsi.nl, with reference to your request number. Team Screening will then manually link the Certificate of Conduct to your request and continue processing the request.
Having problems uploading your Certificate of Conduct? The new MijnDSI requires sharp colour images to correctly verify the authenticity of documents. If you cannot upload your document, try taking a sharper colour photo of the image and upload it again. Please note: the maximum file size is 5 MB.
Please use the following work-around: you can also download the Employer’s Statement from MijnDSI. Download the statement and send it to your (former) employer via e-mail. We recommend that you secure or encrypt the file before sending it via e-mail.
There are several methods for securing a file. To secure a Word document:
Your document is now secured with a password. You can send your (former) employer a notification e-mail with the password, and then send the Employer’s Statement in a separate e-mail.
Once you have received the signed and completed Employer’s Statement from your (former) employer, you can send the file to screening@dsi.nl with reference to your request number. Team Screening will then manually link the Employer’s Statement to your request and continue processing the request.
We are aware of this problem, and are hard at work on a solution. Once we have solved the problem with uploading, we will post a notification on this page.
Until then, please use the following work-around:
And is the status still ‘Request incomplete’? If so, please call Team Screening at tel.: 020 620 12 74 or send an e-mail to screening@dsi.nl. We may be able to complete the request manually or let you know which information is still missing.
At the moment, it may take a bit longer than usual to process your screening application due to the increased number of screening applications. As a result, there is a waiting list for processing screening applications.
A screening procedure takes time to complete due to the many verifications that DSI must conduct. Once DSI has processed your screening application, we can issue the screening report within an average of 10 working days.
DSI is working hard to speed up the processing of applications, and we appreciate your patience in this matter.
To speed up the verification process for your highest completed degree, we ask that you request a free transcript from the DUO register. DSI will verify the document using digital authentication characteristics. To request a transcript, go to mijndiplomas.nl and log in using your DigiD (with text message authentication). You can then download the transcript, save it and upload the file with your request.
Follow the instructions below to share your work experience over the past five years:
Make sure that you cover the entire period of the past five years. You can do that in the following ways:
The most likely cause of the problem is that you did not select your employer in the drop-down menu. In that case, ask your employer to send a screening invitation. This will ensure that you go through the correct screening process, and that your employer pays for the screening.
The image is probably out of focus, or the file type is not recognized. Try uploading a sharper image with minimum file size 5 MB of your proof of identification. This should solve the problem.
If you still cannot upload the file, please contact our helpdesk at info@mijndsi.nl or call 020 620 12 74.
We have noticed that some professionals do not use the link sent by their (future) employer when submitting a screening request. We ask that you use this link. If you have not received a link via e-mail, we ask that you request another link from your (future) employer. This will allow your (future) employer to monitor the status of your screening application. That makes the process more convenient and efficient for everyone.
DSI has noticed that applicants occasionally try to upload more than one diploma per document file. This makes the verification process more difficult, so please only upload one diploma document per file.
Also please note that DSI will only list 3 additional diplomas on your screening report, so you only need to upload a maximum of 3 separate diploma documents.
The drop-down menu for ‘Work history’ in your MijnDSI platform shows the option ‘Multiple periods’. We ask that you do not choose this option in the drop-down menu. Experience has shown that the term ‘multiple periods’ in your screening report can cause confusion. DSI is working on removing this option from the system, but until then we ask that you do not select this option in the menu.
Remember to upload your Certificate of Conduct in colour. DSI must receive the Certificate of Conduct in colour in order to verify the authentication characteristics. If the Certificate of Conduct is not in colour, then DSI will reject your screening application. This will delay the processing of your screening request and the issue of your screening report.
You will have to upload documents as part of the screening application. Please make sure that the files are not larger than 5 Mb. The platform will not accept uploaded files that are larger than 5 Mb.
The platform can always read .jpeg files, but it may have difficulty recognising other file formats, for example when uploading your proof of identification.

You answered No to this question. Your report therefore does not meet the statutory requirements. Stichting Tuchtrechtbanken unfortunately can not process your report.
You can only make a report if an individual has violated the Banker’s Oath. For this reason, it is important that you at least know the first name and surname of the individual and the name of the organisation at which he or she works or has worked.
The Banker’s Oath only concerns the behaviour of individuals. If you are of the opinion that a financial institution has violated the rules, then please contact the Kifid at www.kifid.nl
The Banker’s Oath came into force on 1 April 2015. The Ethics Committee may only deal with behavioural violations that took place on or after this date.
The Banker’s Oath only applies to individuals who have taken the oath in the Netherlands and who are employed at an organisation that is based in the Netherlands.
You answered Yes to this question. Your report therefore does not meet the statutory requirements. Stichting Tuchtrechtbanken unfortunately can not process your report.
The Foundation for Banking Ethics Enforcement cannot obtain financial compensation. In the Netherlands, financial compensation may be sought through civil court.
A person about whom you wish to make a report must have broken at least one of the following rules of conduct in the Banker’s Oath. You can find the rules of conduct here.
