The foundation for ethical and competent behaviour
When you become certified with DSI, you commit to our Code of Conduct. This code provides clear guidelines on professional knowledge, skills, and integrity. To make the DSI Code of Conduct more applicable to your daily work, we have translated the code into ten core principles.
Ethical dilemmas are best addressed early on within your own organisation. Open dialogue helps ensure that decisions are made carefully and can be clearly explained. Prevention is better than cure — integrity should be a regular topic of discussion within teams and at the board level in financial institutions.
However, if a situation goes beyond an internal dilemma and may involve an integrity breach, financial professionals can submit a report to DSI. This is based on the DSI Code of Conduct and may lead to a disciplinary procedure. Learn more about submitting an integrity report and review examples of previous disciplinary rulings to assess whether your situation warrants a report to DSI. The DSI Code of Conduct is included in the General Regulations of DSI. This regulation also contains the full text of the Code of Conduct and provides explanations on its application and definitions. Together with the core principles, it forms a guide for ethical conduct in daily practice.
